Aug 22, 2010 : It was the 4th ODI match between India vs Sri Lanka at Dumbulla stadium Colombo. The match was very crucial for both the teams as their way into the finals. In the first time in this series Indian Captain Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first. The start was not a good one for team India as Sehwag and Karthik was got out in early over. After those two wickets Sri Lanka team got the momentum in their favor. Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma were not able to stay at the crease and got out in very quick session. The team India total score was 61 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. The Indian team needs a big partnership. The Captain Dhoni had to play a big role in this match but unfortunately he was failed to deliver this time and got out after scoring just 10 runs in 16 balls. It was Yuvraj Singh who looked in good touch and stroked some lusty blows. Yuvraj Singh was out at the bowling of Malinga and Sri Lanka wraps the India innings at 103 runs.

The Sri Lankan bowlers performed very well and get the task easier for their batsmen. It was very small total for sri Lanka team. The Sri Lankan openers got their team to a flying start and scored runs in very quick times. The Indian bowling attack failed to restrict the Sri Lankan batsmen. Both the players set the right tone for the Sri Lanka team. Dilshan was out after scoring 35 runs. It was very late for the Indian team the Sri Lanka team was few steps away from victory. The sri Lanka team total score was 79 runs at the loss of 1 wicket. After that Jaywardne was out after scoring 33 runs in 35 balls. The Captain Sangakara and Tharanga stroked the victory shots for Sri Lanka and seal their place into the final. Sri Lanka team won the match by 8 wickets.
