Lahore (PTI) The Pakistani cricketers who took part in the inaugural Bangladesh Premier League are still waiting for their dues to be cleared by the Twenty20 tournament’s organisers. One of the leading players confirmed to PTI that until now, most of the players had only received 25 percent of the total amount due to them from their franchises.

“We are still waiting for something to happen. The point is that because we also have to look at our livelihood for the future, there is nothing much we can do except to keep on reminding the Bangladesh Cricket Board and respective franchises to clear the dues,” he said.

Karachi (PTI)  Pakistan opener Taufeeq Umar aims to cross the 6,000-run mark before calling it a day.

“I’ve got several good innings under my belt and those have given me the confidence of staying in the middle for longer while also scoring runs in pressure situations,” The Express Tribune quoted Taufeeq, as saying.

“The more you stay on the pitch, the more you learn to tackle dodgy situations. I believe I’ve also been maturing gradually and that’s why I want to score at least 6,000 runs in Tests before retiring,” he added.

He rates his double-century as the `highlight’ of his career that gives him `great satisfaction’.

Taufeeq also wants a proper shot at limited-overs cricket, especially after his aggressive show in the recently concluded Super Eights T20 Cup where he emerged as the Eagles’ top-scorer with 138 runs at a strike-rate of 132.

He averages just under 40 with the bat and although his recent form has been poor, his century against Bangladesh and a career-best 236 against Sri Lanka last year helped him cement his place in the Pakistan squad.

Lahore (ANI) Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is likely to pull out of his deal to play for English county Worcestershire in this year”s Friends Life Twenty20 competition.

The move would come as a setback for Worcestershire as Ajmal had emerged its best bowler in last year”s T20 competition.

He had claimed 16 wickets in eight games, conceding fewer than six runs an over and averaging 11.37 per wicket.

Worcestershire, however, is yet to officially confirm Ajmal”s withdrawal, though they were aware of series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, The Daily Times reports.

Ajmal will cite a need to manage his workload ahead of additional international commitments for Pakistan, who are confident of announcing a series against Sri Lanka shortly.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also yet to decide whether to allow Junaid Khan to play for Lancashire.
