June 24,2010 : It was the final match of Micromax Asia Cup between India vs Sri Lanka at Dambola Stadium Sri Lanka. The team India won the toss and they decided to bat first. The start was not a good one for the team India because Gautam Gambhir was run out in the 6th over at brilliant fielding of Tharanga. After that Dinesh karthik and Virat kohli batted well in the power play overs. Both the batsmen scored run in singles and doubles. Virat kohli was departed after scoring 28 runs in 34 balls. The team India total score was 100 runs at the loss of two wickets. Dinesh Karthik was the man for team India he stroked some brilliant shorts at the bowling of Sri Lanka. The things were going in favor of team India, in between Dinesh Karthik scored his 5th half century of International Cricket. Team India Captain Dhoni and karthik looked in very good touch in the middle over of the match but karthik was departed at the bowling of kandamby in the 29th over of the match. In the end the Sri Lanka Innings was destroyed by India at 187 runs in 44 over. India won the Asia Cup by 81 runs. The Miracle Captain Dhoni and his youth brigade now the king of Asia after a long wait of 15 years.

Both the openers gave India a slow start they added up to 50 runs in first ten over. Gautam Gambhir was the first man to go back to the pavilion at the bowling of Mathews. It was a big wicket for the Sri Lanka team. After that Virat kohli bad form continued and he was out after scoring just 10 runs in 14 balls. The team total score was 75 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in 15 over. The Indian batsmen like Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina was departed after getting a good start. It was Rohit Sharma and Captain Mahendar Singh Dhoni batted together and added a partnership of 70 runs. Dhoni wan run out after scoring 41 runs in 53 balls.
