The Eden Gardens in Kolkata will not be ready in time to host the India-England World Cup clash on February 27

In a major embarrassment to the BCCI, the ICC has ruled out Eden Gardens as the host of the game between India and England on February 27. The ICC’s inspection team, which included some of the leading experts in the field of stadium and ground preparation, felt that Eden Gardens would not be ready in time.

Jan 21, 2011 : It was the 4th ODI match between India vs South Africa. The home team won the toss and they decided to bat first. The Captain Smith and Amla provide South Africa a slow start. Both the players added a fifty run partnership for the 1st wicket, Smith was got out after scoring 18 runs in 30 balls. Amla continued his good run and added useful run for South Africa. He was not getting the support from other end as Van Wyk and Ab de villiers got out in very quick session. The inform Amla scored another half century and looked in good touch. It was a mix up between Amla and Dumminy that provide team India a much needed wicket of Amla after scoring 64 runs. The total team score of South Africa was 115 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. It was Dumminy played a magical innings along with tail Enders. In the end with fine half century from Dumminy South Africa team setting a total of 265 runs in 50 Over.

Team India youth brigade had to bat well for getting this score. RG Sharma and Patel started the run chase for team India. Both the players failed to provide a good start and got out in quick session. It was early break through for South Africa. After these quick wickets the team India batting collapsed and their batsmen was not able to stay at the crease. South Africa bowling looked in great control. On the other hand it was looked very difficult for team India batting.  It was not a good day for team India batting and they were failed to gave their best in the field. Team India finally mange’s only 142 run in a rain interrupted match. The South Africa team won the match by 48 runs by D/L method.

Team Indian already got the lead of 2-1 in the series will look for their first ever series victory in South Africa. On the other South Africa had to show some consistency in their batting. South Africa team after winning the first match looked completely out of touch in the last two matches. The home team poor performance in the batting troubled the side in the ODI Series. The team looked uncomfortable with out experienced Kallis. It will be a last chance for South Africa to bounce back into the series.

India on the other hand showed brilliant temperament in the last two matches. Team India looked hungry for the victory and their players were tried their best in the series. Team India had to sort out their problem in the top order. The openers were failed to provide a good stat in this whole series. Team India bowling is looked up to the mark. All the bowlers got wickets in the recent matches.

The South Africa will make some changes in this match. it is now clear that the bating is far too weak. Morne van Wyk, who was selected in the World Cup squad, and Albie Morkel, who did not make it through, have both been selected to the side and could play in the game. The South Africa will hope their captain Smith will play in long inning in this match and the performance of Dumminy and De Villiers will be the key for South Africa team. It will be epic encounter between two best sides of World Cricket.
