July 26, 2010 Day 1 : It was the 2nd Test match between India vs Sri Lanka at the Collumbo stadium of Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan Captain Sangakara won the toss and decided to bat first. The Openers Dilshan and Paranavitana gave Sri Lanka team a brilliant start they utilize the condition of the wickets and scored quick runs in the first few over. Dilshan was the dominating partner. He stroked some lusty blows and destroyed the line and length of Indian bowlers. The Indian peace attack repeated the story of galle test and failed to picked up wickets in the starting over. Tilakratne Dilshan got another half century to his name. He scored 50 runs in just 40 balls. The Indian team finally takes the breath of relive as Ojha picked up the wicket of Dilshan and provide team their first break through.
The Total team Score of Sri Lanka was 99 runs at the loss of one wicket. It was a good platform to work on for Captain Sangakara. The Captain carried the momentum and scoring runs at a good rate. Both the players tested the nerves of Indian bowlers. In between Paranavitana got second half century of his career. Both the players troubled the Indian bowlers. It was a memorable Partnership of over 200 runs that took Sri Lanka on a Comanding position. Both the Players completed their centuries. Parnavitana got 100 runs in 221 balls before he got out at the bowling of Sharma. It was a big wicket for Indian team. After that few overs left in the Day one. July 27, 2010 Day 2 : The Sri Lankan team started from 312 runs at the loss of 2 wickets at Day 2. The Sri Lankan team all eyes on two most senior players of Sri Lanka. The Indian Seemers failed to provide early break through and Sangakara smashed them all round the park. He was well supported by Jaywardaned at the other end. Both the players carried the momentum very nicely and added useful runs in the total of Sri Lanka. In between Sri Lanka team Captain Sangakara got to 150. Mahela Jaywardne scored another half Century of his Career. The bowlers were not able to stop these two batsmen. The things are looked in favor of Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka team was heading towards a big total. The India bowling attack looked completely out of touch. The Sangakara completed his 7th double hundred and Jaywardne scored a brilliant Century. Both the players got a partnership of 193 runs that helped Sri Lanka to reach a big total. The Captain Sangakara was out at the bowling of Sehwag it was a big wicket for team India. The total team score of Sri Lanka was 466 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. After that Jaywardene and Samaraveera got together and scored runs very quickly. The Indian bowlers were praying for wickets. The Sri Lankan batsman scored runs at a very good run rate. Jaywardne was out after playing a cracking innings of 174 runs in 244 balls. Samraveera remain not out after scoring 76 runs in 121 balls. The Sri Lankan team was finally declared their innings after getting a huge total of 642 runs.
The Indian team needs a good start for getting a big total like this. Virendar Sehwag and Murli Vijay started the Innings of India. Both the players looked in very good touch. They dominated the Sri Lankan peace attack. The Indian team got a good start as team India scored first 50 runs with out loosing any wicket. The brilliant Virendar Sehwag carried his good form in this test match and hit some lusty blows; He was well supported by Vijay at the other end. Virendar Sehwag completed his half century and provides India a much needed start. Finally at the end day 2 team India scored 95 runs with out loosing any wicket. This test match is nicely balanced at the stage.
July 28, 2010 Day 3 : India started the Day 3 and it was a good reply by both the openers of team India. They never have thrown their wickets away at the bowling of Sri Lanka. Virendar Sehwag carried his good form and added some quick runs in the total to team India. Murli Vijay completed his half century in a very unique style. Team India lost their 1st wicket as Sehwag missed out a century and scored 99 runs in 101 balls. It was a disappointing end of a great Innings. After that India lost two quick wickets as Vijay and Dravid. The Sri Lanka bowlers pull things back on track. The Indian team needs a big partnership as Sachin Tendulkar and Laxman get together and knock the ball around. It was a slow start by both the batsman. The team India total score was 173 at the loss of 3 wickets. It was Mendis who took the wicket of Laxman and break the hopes of team India. The Little Master Sachin Tendulkar was the last hope of team India. The Sri Lanka bowlers were bowling in very good rhythm. After that Sachin and Raina played according to the situation. Both the players scored runs in singles and doubles. The Little Master completed another half Century of his Career and looking for a big one. Both these batsmen pull things back on platform for team India. The Little Master scored another century of his career and Raina got to his half Century. The team India scored 382-4 at the end of Day 3.
July 29, 2010 Day 4 : It was the Day 4 for India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test match. A day was totally belonged to Indian Cricket. Team India starts playing 382 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. The Little Master Saching Tendulkar at the crease with Suresh Raina. Both the Players carried the momentum and get things going for team India. Sachin Tendulkar was the dominating Partner he scored runs at a good run rate. The Sri Lankan bowlers were not getting wickets in this test match. In between Suresh Raina completed his Century on his first test Match. It will a great moment for this young player. The things were looked in favor of team India. The Sri Lanka team got their first wicket of the day as Raina was out at the bowling of Mendis. Raina scored 120 runs in 228 balls. After that Captain Dhoni and Tendulkar got together and break the hopes of Sri Lanka team. The Little Master reached to anther milestone as he scored a double hundred and pull things back in team India favor. After scoring a double hundred Tendulkar was out at the bowling of Dilshan. He scored 203 runs at 347 balls. The total team score of team India was 592 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. The Sri Lankan team relived after the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian team lower order batsman Harbhajan Singh was out with out scoring any run. The Captain Dhoni stroked a half Century and he was well supported by Mithun at the other end. In the final session of the match Dhoni and Mithun was out after playing a good knocks of 76 and 41 runs. Team India scored 669 at the loss of 9 wickets at the end of Day 4 of 2nd Test Match.
July 30, 2010 Day 5 : It was the last day of 2nd test match between India vs Sri Lanka. India starts playing 668 for 9 at the last day. The lower order batsman added 39 runs for the last wicket as team India was bowled out at 707 runs.
The Sri Lanka team started their 2nd Innings and it was nothing left in this test match for the cricket fans. The match was headed towards a draw. The Sri Lanka openers Dilshan and Paranavitana got Sri Lanka to flying start as they 50 runs for the 1st wicket. Dilshan was out after scoring 14 runs in 41 balls at the bowling of Mithun. After that the century maker of last Innings Parnavitana was caught in the spin of Harbahajan Singh. The total team score of Sri Lanka was 73 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. At the end sri Lanka team declares their innings at 129 at the loss of 3 wickets. The match was ended as draw. Sri Lanka team is still one up in three test match Series. The team India will be really pleased as they saved this test match.
